Legal notice
Terms of use of Tesel.
In force since 1 November 2026.
Tesel is a free web app for a team to share on a map where everyone is, messages, tasks and alerts. By using it you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use it.
What Tesel is and is not
Tesel is a supporting tool. It is not an emergency service, and it does not replace the emergency number (112 in Europe) or the official channels of any service or organisation. If someone is in danger, call the emergency number.
Tesel is a project under development. It may change, be interrupted or stop being offered at any time, without notice.
No warranties
Tesel is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind. In particular, we do not warrant:
- that it works without interruptions or errors;
- that messages arrive, or arrive in time, over the internet or by radio;
- that positions, maps, satellite imagery, weather warnings or any other data it shows are accurate, complete or up to date.
Positions depend on each device's GPS. Maps, imagery and warnings come from third parties, such as OpenStreetMap, with their own terms and limitations.
Your responsibility
- The decisions you make with what Tesel shows are yours. Whatever is critical, check it by other means.
- You are responsible for your device, for the radios you use and for complying with the rules that apply to you: those on the use of radio and on the protection of the personal data of the people in your group, among others.
- You are responsible for whom you invite. Whoever has the invitation joins the group and sees everything shared in it. Share it with care.
- Do not use Tesel for unlawful purposes, to follow anyone without their consent, or to share content that is not yours or that harms others.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the people who make Tesel are not liable for any damage or loss, direct or indirect, arising from using Tesel or from being unable to use it: injuries, loss of data, delays, failures of the network or of the radios, or decisions taken on inaccurate or incomplete information, among others. Nothing here limits any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
The radios
Radios are third-party devices that you buy and use on your own: Tesel does not make them, does not sell them and is not responsible for them. Their range and behaviour depend on the terrain, the device and how it is used. Check that using them is lawful where you are; in Europe they use the free 868 MHz band, which has limits of its own.
Privacy
- Tesel asks for no sign-up: only the name you choose for your group.
- What you share is encrypted with a key only your group has. The server passes the messages on without being able to read them and keeps them, encrypted, for a limited time, so that whoever was offline can catch up; then they are deleted. We can neither read them nor recover them.
- Tesel uses no ads, no analytics and no trackers.
- Your position is shared only if you turn it on, and you stop sharing it whenever you like.
- What the app keeps on your device (your groups, the downloaded maps) is only there. If you clear the browser's data, it is lost.
Brand
The name Tesel and its logo belong to the project and may not be used without permission.
Changes and governing law
These terms may change. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its date. They are governed by Spanish law.
